In his latest interview with Dr. Dinno T. Depositario, Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo reiterated the need for authorities to consistently implement the health protocols as the means to effectively manage COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Remollo noted that among the 24 LGUs only Dumaguete City and two other towns maintained the requirement for the submission of negative RT-PCR results for all travelers.
Nevertheless, the provincial government eventually restored the imposition of RT PCR requirements, when a traveler purposely returned to his hometown even if he was tested positive of COVID-19 thus endangering the health of his family and community.
The vaccination of medical and other COVID-19 frontliners 2nd dosage is ongoing and the City Government has already allocated P 30 million to purchase additional vaccines once authorized by DOH.
Mayor Remollo also responded to questions from citizens on the local health protocols including possible exemptions that were denied.
