Five (5) proposed service contracts to be entered into by the City Government and establishments were reviewed by the Committee on Rules, Ordinances and Legal Matters chaired by Councilor Michael Bandal to authorize Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo to sign on behalf of the LGU.
Among the establishments that requested to enter into service contracts for 2 to 3 years with the City Government for the desludging of their septic tanks are: Mike’s Dauin Beach Resort, Queen Wash Laundry Services, A Villas Resort and Restaurant, Starbucks Dakong Balay and Drill Shack Resort.
Engr. Ronnie Fortin of the City Economic Enterprises, informed the Committee along with members Councilors Edgar Lentorio Jr. and Karissa Tolentino, who joined the meeting via zoom, that the establishments needed the service contracts to secure the Environmental Compliance Certificate and follow the Clean Water Act.
Under the contract, the personnel of the City Septage Treatment Plant will perform the desludging operation while the establishments will pay fees to the City Government consistent with City Ordinance No. 18 series of 2006.
The committee also tackled the newly passed ordinance Prohibiting the Dumping of Garbage along Barangay Motong Highways, which according to the barangay officials present was already submitted to the City Legal Office for preliminary review.
