Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo has approved the granting of financial assistance for distressed/displaced/abused Overseas Filipino Workers, some of them lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, starting February 1, 2020 onwards.
Qualified applicants can avail the maximum cash assistance of P 5, 000.00 to the OFWs and or their families.
PESO Manager Maria Socorro P. Mira said that those who can avail must be Filipino citizens, bonafide residents of Dumaguete City, reckoning date of availment is at least 1 year upon arrival date of the OFWs, beneficiaries or next of kin of OFWs who died while on active duty and distressed/displaced OFWs.
PROCEDURE:
1. Applicants for the financial assistance can proceed to the City Public Employment Service Office Helpdesk for evaluation of documents.
2. Applicant can proceed to the office of the City Social Welfare and Development Office for the processing of their case study.
3. Notice will be given by the Office of the Mayor for the approval and release of the financial assistance.
