The City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases reported 6 new COVID-19 cases, mostly infected by COVID patients, and 3 recoveries as of Tuesday.
Hence, since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to April 13, 2021 there are 29 active cases; 508 recoveries and 30 deaths.
City Health Officer Dr. Sarah B. Talla said that the 6 new COVID-19 cases are: 3 members of the same family to include the 40-year-old close contact of NEGOR-COV 2026, his 68-year-old mother and 27-year-old sister from Barangay Daro; 23-year-old co-worker of NEGOR-COV 1944 also of Barangay Daro; 30-year-old male student and close contact of NEGOR-COV 1958 from Barangay Piapi and the 58-year-old female resident of Barangay Batinguel, who underwent RT PCR test for travel to Manila.
Meanwhile, the 3 COVID recoveries are: the 44-year-old mechanical engineer with history of travel to Negros Occidental; 38-year-old sales supervisor and the 64-year-old close contact of NEGOR-COV 1923 from Barangay Motong.
Eighteen (18) Persons Under Monitoring are under strict isolation as they are known contacts of COVID-19 positive cases in Barangays Batinguel, Candau-ay, Buñao, Banilad and Daro.
In contrast, 19 PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to rejoin their families.
