Members of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council participated in the planning workshop conference, Thursday, on the priorities and response clusters to ensure that every agency is fully aware of their functions and responsibilities in keeping our communities resilient from calamities.
The programs, projects and activities totaling P 45 million, representing 5% calamity fund of the 2021 annual budget were allocated in such manner that all possible needs for disaster preparedness, prevention, mitigation and recovery are integrated into a sensible and comprehensive plan of action that will save lives and protect properties.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the CDRRMC and City DRRM Officer Allen Froilan Cabaron II also awarded the certificates of commendation to agencies and offices that provided support to the CDRRMC during the Tropical Storm Auring response operations.
Among the awardees are the Philippine National Red Cross Negros Oriental Chapter, 514th Engineering Squadron Reserve PAF, COSCA Rescue Unit (CRU), Negros Oriental Radio Amateur District 7 (NORAD 7), ONE RESCUE EMS, Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative II (NORECO 2), Alpha Company 11th IB, 3ID, 131 3rd Marine Rifle Company (PN), Philippine National Police – Dumaguete City, Bureau of Fire Protection – Dumaguete City, Philippine Coast Guard – Dumaguete City Station, City Health Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, City Engineer’s Office and General Services Office.
