Ten (10) COVID-19 patients have recovered after testing negative in the latest RT-PCR swab tests results released by the City Health Office, Wednesday.
However, 2 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed on the same day while 2 other patients that were initially listed under Dumaguete City but are actually residents of Siquijor and Ilo-ilo provinces have been deducted from the tally.
Thus, from January 30, 2020 to April 7, 2021 the city has had a total of 545 COVID-19 cases: 26 active; 489 recoveries and 30 deaths.
The 2 new COVID-19 cases are: a 21-year-old female student with history of travel to Cebu but entered the Dumaguete City without the required RT-PCR test and the 38-year-old Sales Supervisor who travels in different towns and cities in Negros Oriental.
On the other hand, the 10 recoveries include: 2 Deped employees; 3 employees of private companies; 1 employee of PAG-IBIG; a 5-year-old girl; a 49-year-old house helper and 2 residents of Barangays Motong and Taclobo.
Meanwhile, 11 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) were released from isolation today after they completed the 14-day quarantine period without showing symptoms of Influenza Like Illness or ILI.
The 21 new PUMs are close contacts of the new COVID positive cases from Tanjay City, Valencia and from Barangays Daro, Buñao and Banilad.
None of the 196 PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
