Five (5) travelers and 2 workers are among the 7 new COVID-19 cases along with 3 recoveries reported today based on the latest results of swab RT-PCR tests.
Hence, there are now 32 active COVID-19 cases, 473 recoveries and 30 deaths since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to April 1, 2021.
The 7 new COVID-19 cases are: a 44-year-old seafarer with a history of travel to Davao and Bacolod; 24-year-old staff of a national agency with travels to towns and cities due to work; 21-year-old female student who was tested as part of travel requirements; 27-year-old male resident of Batinguel also tested for travel purposes; 47-year-old woman also tested for travel purposes; a 39-year-old employee of a national agency with no travel history and a 25-year-old medical technologist and teacher who exhibited symptoms of Influenza Like Illness.
Meanwhile, the 3 COVID-19 recoveries are: 66-year-old male senior citizen from Barangay Batinguel; 19-year-old male student from Barangay Cantil-e and 55-year-old female resident of Poblacion 6, who were all swabbed as part of travel requirements.
There are 21 new Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) under quarantine for being exposed to COVID-19 positive cases from Barangays Taclobo, Pulantubig, Bagacay, Buñao, Junob, Poblacion 5, Looc, Piapi and Batinguel.
But 4 other PUMs were released from quarantine today after they completed the 14-day quarantine period without showing symptoms of Influenza Like Illness or ILI.
None of the 163 PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of ILI while under quarantine.
