About 193 health workers and frontliners under LGU-Dumaguete City have already been vaccinated for the first dose of either Astrazeneca or Sinovac vaccines as of last week.
In her report to the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla also said that there was no extreme case of Adverse Events Following Immunization among those who were immunized as of Thursday.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo said that among those immunized are doctors, nurses, midwives, medical technologists, barangay health workers, contact tracers and other medical frontliners of the city.
The City IATF MEID is now waiting for the arrival of additional supplies of vaccines for the next priority group to be immunized against COVID-19.
Once the allocations from the national government are fully utilized, the City Government has initially set aside P 30 million for the purchase of more vaccines to immunize at least 70% of the population.
Nevertheless, the allocation and procurement of anti-COVID vaccines by LGUs are subject to approval by higher authorities.
