In this latest episode of Let’s Talk with Dok Dinno, Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo reflects on the recent visit of President Rodrigo Duterte to inaugurate the upgraded Dumaguete-Sibulan airport and the 2-storey port operations building at the city pier.
Dr. Dinno T. Depositario noted that Mayor Remollo is a personal friend to a number of national and cabinet officials accompanying the President including Senator Bong Go.
Mayor Remollo hosted Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre Bello who pledged P 25 million for TUPAD program, Job Start, provision of fiberglass boats, aid to small business, among others.
Other officials who are also friends of Mayor Remollo and have been helping the city administration to secure projects for Dumaguete are Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, Presidential Chief Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo and Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar and Philippine Information Agency Director-General Ramon L. Cualoping III.
Senator Bong Go and Mayor Remollo distributed financial assistance to 1, 346 city’s ambulant vendors, blind masseurs, fisher folks, market vendors and fire victims.
In separate visits, Mayor Remollo also hosted Department of Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, who promoted the safe reopening of domestic tourism.
And most recently some Deped officials representing Secretary Leonor Magtolis-Briones inaugurated the 2 three-storey school buildings for West City Elementary School and inspected the proposed TechVoc High School building in Barangay Batinguel.
Mayor Remollo concludes that the recent visits of President Duterte and other Cabinet officials prove that Dumaguete City is included in the national development plan of the administration.
