Secretary Silvestre Bello III of the Department of Labor and Employment has committed to Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo the grant of P 25 million worth of employment projects for city residents.
Secretary Bello made the announcement during the awarding ceremony of the Dumaguete City PESO as Regional Best Public Employment Service Office in Central Visayas.
In the formal awarding ceremony this afternoon, Secretary Bello commended Mayor Remollo, PESO Manager Socorro P. Mira and her staff for implementing programs that enhanced the skills of the residents so they can find decent and better paying job here and abroad.
Councilors Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Lilani Ramon, Michael Bandal, Edgar Lentorio Jr., and Manuel Patrimonio along with heads of various departments and DOLE Region 7 Director Salome O. Siaton attended the ceremony at the session hall.
Included in the P 25 million worth of livelihood grants are: emergency employment, 10 fiberglass boats, bicycles, fund for job start and aid to small enterprises.
