Senator Bong Go led the distribution of cash assistance to hundreds of members of the informal sector in crisis situation with Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Congressman Manuel Sagarbarria and Governor Roel Degamo at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex, Thursday.
City Social Welfare and Development Officer Lilibeth Filipinas said that among those who received financial assistance of P 3, 000 pesos each are the city’s ambulant vendors, blind masseurs, fisher folks and market vendors.
Dozens of victims of the recent fire in Barangay Bagacay and Barangay Junob also received P 5, 000 each including other fire victims in Sibulan and Tanjay City.
Senator Go lauded Mayor Remollo, Cong. Sagarbarria, Governor Degamo including Councilors Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Lilani Ramon, Manuel Sagarbarria, Michael Bandal, Edgar Lentorio Jr., Manuel Patrimonio, Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie Amores and SK President Renz Macion for their sincere service to the people of Dumaguete City and strong support to President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.
The estimated 1, 346 beneficiaries of the financial assistance also received food packs, meals and personal protective equipment during the event this morning at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex.
Among the national officials who attended the gathering with Senator Bong Go are Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Lloyd Dino, Secretary Silvestre Bello III of the Department of Labor and Employment, PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar, PIA Director General Ramon Cualoping III, actor Philip Salvador and regional directors of several departments.
