The Gender and Development Focal Point System convened in a meeting presided by Councilor Lilani Ramon, Friday, to follow through on the ongoing programs, projects and activities charged under the 5% GAD budget for 2021.
Councilor Ramon, Chairperson of the Committee on Women, Children and Family Life and Special Needs, stressed the need for all agencies and concerned NGOs to coordinate in the implementation of GAD related projects and initiatives to benefit their constituents.
It is also suggested that a Child Minding Center be established in the City Hall so that working mothers and citizens transacting in the offices can safely leave their children as they go about their tasks and assignments.
Among those present in the meeting are Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie Amores, SK Federation President Renz Macion, department heads and representatives of NGOs.
And to strengthen the cases on perpetrators of Violence Against Women and Children, it was also suggested to provide livelihood assistance to women victims and to seek the assistance of lawyers in the preparation of complaints in the barangay level to include monitoring and evaluation of VAW desk officers.
