Representatives of associations of Motorcabs for Hire join the continuing deliberations before the Committee on Transportation and Traffic of two pending ordinances granting reprieve to holders who exceed the 5 franchise limitation rule and those who failed to renew their franchises within a period of 2 consecutive years.
Committee Chairperson and Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie D. Amores agreed with the opinion that all franchises that were not renewed are already considered expired.
Nevertheless, the members of the committee Councilors Michael Bandal, Karissa Tolentino-Maxino and Edgar Lentorio Jr. will schedule another meeting to thresh out other matters related to the 2 proposed ordinances.
Among those present in this morning’s committee meeting are Vice-Mayor Alan Gel Cordova, City Legal Officer Manuel Arbon, Executive Assistant for Security Concerns retired General Rey Lyndon Lawas, Edmar Santos of FEDUMCODA and Eduardo Lazaro of PISTON.
