The City’s Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases confirms today that no new COVID-19 positive cases were reported Sunday afternoon.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, that there are 21 active COVID cases, 422 recoveries and 28 deaths since the COVID-19 pandemic affected the City from January 30, 2020 to February 28, 2021.
Dr Talla reported that the 21 active COVID cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay (1), Bajumpandan (1), Bantayan (1), Batinguel (1), Cadawinonan (1), Camanjac (1), Candau-ay (1), Cantil-e (2), Daro (1), Junob (3), Mangnao (2), Poblacion 6 (1), Pulantubig (3) and Taclobo (2).
Meanwhile, 5 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) begin their strict and mandatory 14-day quarantine in the designated isolation facilities today.
Specifically, the new PUMs include: 1 close contact of a COVID positive case; 3 OFWs from Panama and UAE and 1 APOR from Negros Occidental.
On the other hand, 9 PUMs were released today after they completed the mandatory 14-day quarantine without showing any signs and symptoms of ILI.
Of the 281 PUMS: 162 are in designated hotel facilities; 36 are in the community isolation center and 83 are in the barangay isolation facilities.
Only 1 of the 281 PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI).
