Monitoring teams led by City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the Philippine Red Cross with the Philippine Army conduct patrol and monitoring of the level of water in the Banica River and the situation of the Banilad national highway.
Rescue teams are on alert and standby to evacuate families if floodwater breaches the riverbanks or if waters would inundate the homes of flood prone areas in the city.
The frequent flooding of the Banilad national highway would require a massive engineering intervention with the help of the DPWH and the cooperation of the owners of land that will be affected should an extensive flood control project will be undertaken to minimize the deluge of water coming from Valencia.
