The number of active COVID-19 cases has dropped to 53 following the recoveries of 8 patients and the confirmation of 2 additional cases reported, Wednesday evening.
From January 30, 2020 to January 27, 2021 the city has had a total of 367 COVID-19 cases: 53 active; 296 recovered and 18 deaths.
Dr. Talla also reported that the 53 active COVID cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay (4), Bajumpandan (3), Balugo (1), Banilad (2), Bantayan (2), Batinguel (3), Buñao (2), Cadawinonan (1), Calindagan (4), Candau-ay (2), Cantil-e (3), Daro (4), Junob (2), Looc (1), Mangnao (1), Motong (1), Piapi (5), Poblacion 1 (3), Poblacion 2 (1), Poblacion 3 (1), Pulantubig (1), Tabuc-tubig (1) and Taclobo (5).
Meanwhile, 86 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) were released from isolation today after they completed the 14-day quarantine period without showing symptoms of Influenza Like Illness or ILI.
Of the 34 new Persons Under Monitoring: 14 are close contacts of new COVID positive cases in Barangays Calindagan and Piapi and 20 Locally Stranded Individuals from Cebu, Cavite and Manila.
Of the current 548 PUMs: 228 are in designated hotel facilities, 57 are in the community isolation center, while 263 are in the barangay isolation centers.
None of the PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
