The City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases convened yesterday to discuss the updates of the COVID-19 situation and the rollout of the national COVID-19 vaccination program probably in the 2nd quarter of this year.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City IATF-MEID, has instructed the 30 barangays to assist in the upcoming COVID-19 vaccination and to participate in the early information campaign about the immunization program.
The City IATF also decided to follow the advisory of Department of Health that results of saliva tests for COVID-19 will not be honored as a substitute to RT-PCR swab tests.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla and the City PNP also reported on the continuous nightly patrols to enforce the 10:00PM curfew and local health protocols including mass gatherings to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Among those who participated in yesterday’s meeting are Councilors Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Manuel Sagarbarria, Edgar Lentorio Jr., Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie Amores, SK President Renz Macion, City DILG Officer Christopher Pastor, Dr. Socrates Villamor of DOH Negros Oriental and representatives of other agencies.
