The number of active COVID-19 cases climbs to 69 following the disclosure of 9 new cases, 2 recoveries and 1 death according to City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla, Wednesday evening.
Hence, from January 30, 2020 to January 20, 2021 Dumaguete City has had 341 COVID-19 cases: 69 active, 256 recoveries and 16 deaths.
Eight (8) Persons Under Monitoring or PUMs were released today after they completed the mandatory 14-day quarantine in the different isolation facilities without showing any signs and symptoms of ILI.
However, 3 new COVID-19 cases and 18 known close contacts of COVID-19 cases in Barangays Pulantubig, Daro, Poblacion 2 and Poblacion 1 are strictly quarantined as PUMs and may be subject to swab tests.
Twenty-one (21) other PUMs, who are not related to any COVID cases begin their strict and mandatory 14-day quarantine in the designated isolation facilities also today.
The 21 other PUMs are: 16 Locally Stranded Individuals from Cebu City, Pasig City, Cavite and Zamboanga Sibugay and 5 APORs (installers) from Cebu City.
Of the current 607 PUMs: 231 are in designated hotel facilities, 45 are in the community isolation center, while 331 are in the barangay isolation centers.
Only 1 of the PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
