The number of active COVID-19 cases dropped to 62 following the recoveries of 19 COVID patients as of Monday evening. However, 11 additional new COVID cases were recorded on the same day.
Hence, since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to January 19, 2021 a total of 331 COVID-19 cases were recorded: 62 active; 254 recoveries and 15 deaths.
City Health Officer Dr. Sarah B. Talla said that the 62 active COVID cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay (4), Bajumpandan (3), Balugo (2), Banilad (3), Bantayan (3), Batinguel (5), Cadawinonan (1), Calindagan (2), Candau-ay (3), Cantil-e (1), Daro (1), Junob (6), Looc (4), Piapi (7), Poblacion 1 (4), Poblacion 4 (1), Poblacion 7 (1), Tabuc-tubig (1) and Taclobo (10). They are all quarantined including their known close contacts.
Meanwhile, 49 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) are under strict isolation as they are known contacts of COVID-19 patients in Barangays Taclobo, Piapi, Cadawinonan and Poblacion 1.
On the other hand, 11 other PUMs are also quarantined: 8 Locally Stranded Individuals from Siquijor, Cebu and Mandaue City; 2 APORs from Cebu City and 1 OFW from Saudi Arabia.
In contrast, 30 PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without
any medical incident, thus cleared to rejoin their families.
Of the current 573 PUMs: 210 are in designated hotel facilities, 50 are in the
community isolation center, while 313 are in the barangay isolation centers.
Only 1 of the 573 PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
