Five (5) COVID patients have already recovered but 2 others, both with comorbidities died yesterday as confirmed by City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla today.
Like yesterday, no new COVID cases were reported as of Monday evening.
Hence, the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases disclosed that there are 70 active COVID cases, 235 recoveries and 15 deaths since the COVID-19 pandemic affected the City from January 30, 2020 to the present January 18, 2021.
The 5 recoveries are the 56-year-old male government employee of Barangay Cantil-e; the 52-year-old lady from Barangay Bunao; 74-year-old female senior citizen and the 2 female helpers of NEGOR-COV 1050 who are all residents of Barangay Piapi.
Meanwhile, the 3 remaining Persons Deprived of Liberty that were infected by their fellow PDLs while inside the Dumaguete City PNP detention center have also recovered. Of the 22 PDLs who were infected, 17 are residents of Dumaguete City while 5 others are from different LGUs.
The deceased were identified as the 65-year-old government official from Barangay Piapi and 87-year-old resident from Barangay Bagacay.
Four Persons Under Monitoring were released today after they completed the mandatory 14-day quarantine in the different isolation facilities without showing any signs and symptoms of ILI.
In contrast, 27 new PUMS begin their strict and mandatory 14-day quarantine in the designated isolation facilities also today.
The 27 new PUMs are: 16 close contacts of COVID Positive cases from Bunao and Taclobo; 1 APOR from Cebu and 10 Locally Stranded Individuals from Cebu, Bacolod, Tagbilaran, Quezon, Butuan, Taguig and Manila.
None of the 520 PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI).
