The City Health Office confirms today that no new COVID-19 case was reported and that 2 COVID-19 patients have recovered as of Sunday afternoon.
The 2 COVID-19 recoveries are the 85-year-old female senior citizen from Barangay Banilad and the 39-year-old male resident of Barangay Looc and PDL at the Dumaguete City Police detention center.
With this development, City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, that there are 77 active COVID-19 positive cases, 230 recoveries and 13 deaths as of January 17, 2021.
Meanwhile, 11 Persons Under Monitoring begin their strict and mandatory 14-day quarantine in the designated isolation facilities today.
The 11 new PUMs are 2 OFWs from Singapore and Saudi Arabia; 3 Locally Stranded Individuals from Negros Occidental and 6 APORs from Cebu and Zamboanga Sibugay.
Twenty-four close (34) close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases are also on quarantine from Barangays Tabuc-tubig (6); Barangay Motong (5); Barangay Bantayan (13) and Barangay Junob (10).
On the other hand, 79 PUMs were released today after they completed the mandatory 14-day quarantine without showing any signs and symptoms of ILI.
Only 1 of the 520 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI).
