City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla disclosed that the number of active COVID-19 cases has dropped to 71 despite reports of 11 additional COVID cases but with 17 recoveries as of Thursday evening.
Since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to January 14, 2021 a total of 305 COVID-19 cases were recorded: 71 active; 221recoveries and 13 deaths.
Meanwhile, 11 close contacts of COVID-19 cases in Barangays Batinguel, Buñao and Cantil-e are under strict quarantine and provided with food packs from the Office of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo.

Talla reports that the 71 active COVID cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay (7), Bajumpandan (2), Balugo (2), Banilad (3), Bantayan (2), Batinguel (5), Buñao (1), Cadawinonan (1), Calindagan (5), Camanjac (1), Candau-ay (2), Cantil-e (2), Junob (11), Looc (5), Piapi (7), Poblacion 1 (5), Poblacion 2 (1), Poblacion 4 (1) and Taclobo (8).
Twenty-five (25) Persons Under Monitoring are quarantined starting today: 2 OFWs from Qatar and Abu Dhabi and 23 LSI from Pampanga, Ilo-ilo, Manila and Siquijor.
On the other hand, 29 PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
None of the 446 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
