The number of confirmed active COVID-19 cases in the city is now 77 following the report of 9 additional cases with 5 recoveries today.
Since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to January 11, 2021 a total of 295 COVID-19 cases were recorded: 77 active; 205 recoveries and 13 deaths.
Meanwhile, 30 close contacts of COVID-19 cases are under strict quarantine and shall be provided with food packs from the Office of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla reports that the 77 active COVID cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay (7), Bajumpandan (3), Balugo (2), Banilad (3), Bantayan (2), Batinguel (1), Cadawinonan (1), Calindagan (7), Camanjac (1), Candau-ay (2), Cantil-e (1), Junob (11), Looc (5), Motong (2), Piapi (8), Poblacion 1 (7), Poblacion 2 (1), Poblacion 4 (7) and Taclobo (6).
Of the 34 PUMs: 13 are OFWs from Saudi Arabia and Dubai; 14 Locally Stranded Individuals from Manila, Cebu City and Siquijor and 7 APORs from Ilo-ilo begin their quarantine as PUMs today.
On the other hand, 24 PUMs completed the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to rejoin their families.
Of the current 426 PUMs: 119 are in designated hotel facilities, 44 are in the community isolation center, while 263 are in the barangay isolation centers.
None of the PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
