City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla disclosed that the number of confirmed active COVID-19 cases in the city is now 75 following the report of 11 additional cases and 3 recoveries today.
Since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to January 11, 2021 a total of 276 COVID-19 cases were recorded: 75 active; 188 recoveries and 13 deaths.
Meanwhile, 71 families that were exposed to COVID-19 cases are also now under strict quarantine in 17 barangays. While on quarantine, the Office of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo will be providing food packs to the affected families.
Dr. Talla reports that the 75 active COVID cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay (6), Bajumpandan (3), Balugo (1), Banilad (3), Bantayan (2), Batinguel (2), Cadawinonan (1), Calindagan (8), Candau-ay (1), Cantil-e (1), Daro (1), Junob (8), Looc (5), Motong (2), Piapi (7), Poblacion 1 (6), Poblacion 3 (2), Poblacion 4 (10), Tabuc-tubig (1) and Taclobo (4).
Meanwhile, 1 OFW from Saudi Arabia and 18 Locally Stranded Individuals from Pagadian City, Cebu City, Siquijor, Sagay, Escalante and Bicol are quarantined as Persons Under Monitoring or PUMs.
On the other hand, 18 PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to rejoin their families.
Of the current 364 PUMs: 94 are in designated hotel facilities, 44 are in the community isolation center, while 226 are in the barangay isolation centers.
Only 1 of the PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
