The City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has directed law enforcers, including barangay tanods, to consistently apprehend violators of the 10:00PM curfew, mandatory use of face masks and disband any mass gatherings that do not follow the health protocols.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City IATF-MEID, also approved procurement of additional swab kits so that the team of City Health Office Dr. Maria Sarah Talla could continue to conduct massive swab testing of all known close contacts of COVID positive cases for prompt identification, isolation and medical intervention.
Almost 3, 000 city residents, who have been exposed or suspected to have COVID-19, have been tested. But according to Dr. Talla more tests are being done almost daily with the collected swab samples sent to either Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center or NOPH Molecular Laboratory.
About 2, 387 Locally Stranded Individuals, Returning Overseas Filipinos and OFWS who have returned to Dumaguete City submitted negative RT-PCR test results before allowed entry and all of them have completed the mandatory quarantine.
