The number of COVID-19 cases rises to 67 following the confirmation of 14 additional cases as reported today.
From January 30, 2020 to January 5, 2021 the city has had a total of 232 COVID-19 cases: 67 active; 152 recovered and 13 deaths.
Meanwhile, 89 known close contacts of COVID-19 cases are strictly quarantined as Persons Under Monitoring or PUMs and may be subject to swab tests based on the assessment of the health workers.
City Health Officer Dr. Talla also updated Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases that 10 other PUMs are quarantined today but are not related to the active COVID cases.
The 10 other PUMs include: 8 Locally Stranded Individuals from Agusan Del Norte and Cebu City; 1 Jail Officer (APOR) from Guihulngan City and 1 ILI case from Barangay Daro.
On the other hand, 19 PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to rejoin their families.
Of the current 324 PUMs: 105 are in designated hotel facilities, 43 are in the community isolation center, while 176 are in the barangay isolation centers.
Six of the PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
