Personnel from various agencies and volunteer organizations coordinated efforts to rescue residents in some coastal barangays and those along the Banica River amid the flash food caused by Tropical Depression Vicky last night up to this early morning.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo ordered the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office and the barangay officials to activate the rescue operations and to provide hot meals to the evacuated residents.
The City Government also acknowledges the quick response of the Philippine Red Cross, NORECO II, the Provincial DRRMO, the Philippine Army, Philippine National Police, One-MC and several volunteer groups during the emergency.
Mayor Remollo said that residents whose homes were damaged by the flash flood caused by Tropical Depression Vicky will be able to receive financial assistance from the City Government. The barangays will submit the list of affected residents to the CSWDO for validation.
