The City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases confirms that there are 36 active COVID-19 cases as of Monday afternoon.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla reports that the active COVID cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay (3), Balugo (3), Banilad (6), Batinguel (2), Calindagan (3), Camanjac (2), Daro (3), Junob (3), Mangnao (2), Motong (1), Poblacion 3 (1), Pulantubig (3), Tabuc-tubig (1), Taclobo (1) and Talay (2). They are all quarantined including their known close contacts.
It was also reported today that NEGOR-COV 671 has died. He is the 75 year-old resident of Barangay Calindagan with ILI, Parkinson’s disease, enlarged prostate and arthritis.
Meanwhile, NEGOR-COV 674 has recovered. He is the 49 year-old government employee from Barangay Balugo.
From January 30, 2020 to December 14, 2020, the city has 118 total COVID-19 cases: 36 active; 74 recoveries and 8 deaths.
Dr. Talla also informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s IATF-MEID that 50 PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
In contrast, 11 other individuals are quarantined beginning today in the different isolation facilities as Persons Under Monitoring or PUMs.
The 11 new PUMs include: NEGOR-COV 674 and 682 who were recently discharged from the hospitals; 2 Locally Stranded Individuals from Cebu City and Zamboanga; 3 OFWs from Singapore, Dubai and Saudi Arabia; a foreigner from Indonesia and 3 Coast Guard Personnel from Manila and Siquijor.
Meanwhile, of the current 536 PUMs: 226 are in designated hotel facilities, 43 are in the community isolation center, while 266 are in barangay isolation centers.
Only 1 of the PUMs seen and examined by the City Health personnel has shown signs and symptoms of ILI.
