The City’s Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases confirms today that no new COVID-19 positive cases were reported and that 2 COVID-19 patients have also recovered.
The two COVID-19 recoveries are the 36-year-old wife and 7-month-old son of NEGOR-COV 661, the elected government official from an adjacent municipality.
With this development, City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, that there are now 38 remaining active COVID-19 positive cases, 73 recoveries and 7 deaths from January 30 to December 13, 2020.
Meanwhile, 48 Persons Under Monitoring begin their strict and mandatory 14-day quarantine in the designated isolation facilities today.
Thirty-three (33) of the new PUMs are known close contacts of two COVID-19 namely NEGOR-COV 743 and NEGOR COV 744, who are both hospital workers.
Specifically, 28 are close contacts of NEGOR-COV 743 from Barangays Taclobo (3), Batinguel (12), Cadawinonan (7), Bagacay (2) and Daro (4) and of NEGOR-COV 744 from Barangay Motong (5).
The 15 other PUMs who are not close contacts of COVID-19 cases include: 4 OFWs from Dubai and Australia; 1 jail guard from Cebu City; 9 Locally Stranded Individuals from Manila, Cebu City, Lapu-lapu City and Bulacan; 1 Returning Overseas Filipino from the USA.
On the other hand, 28 PUMs were released today after they completed the mandatory 14-day quarantine without showing any signs and symptoms of ILI.
None of the 575 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI).
Finally, of the 575 PUMS: 226 are in designated hotel facilities; 43 are in the community isolation center and 306 are in the barangay isolation facilities.
