Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and in compliance to the directive of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, the City Public Market Complex has been regularly disinfected under close supervision of the City Health Office and Market Administrator Engr. Ronnie Fortin.
And to further control any transmission of COVID-19, the management has long been requiring all clients, buyers and sellers to wear face masks/face shields, use disinfectants and observe other health protocols as requirements for entry to the public and offices within the complex 10 buildings and nearly 1, 000 stalls or offices.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla has promptly isolated all close contacts of COVID-19 cases in the public market and imposed lockdowns on the stalls and the neighboring units of confirmed COVID cases.
Satellite markets are also allowed but regulated in the different barangays to minimize the number of people who would come to the public market for their daily supplies of food, goods and services.
