There are 39 active COVID-19 cases following the recovery of 9 patients and the confirmation of 9 additional cases reported today.
From January 30, 2020 to December 4, 2020 the city has had a total of 116 COVID-19 cases: 39 active; 70 recovered and 7 deaths. The 7th fatality was NEGOR-COV 683 the 75-year-old female resident of Poblacion 2 with no history travel.
Meanwhile, 8 known close contacts of COVID-19 cases are strictly quarantined as Persons Under Monitoring or PUMs and may be subject to swab tests based on the assessment of the health workers.
Specifically, the 34 new PUMs include 8 close contacts of the COVID Positive cases from Barangays Mangnao (5) and Batinguel (3); 24 Locally Stranded Individuals from Manila, Cebu City, Zamboanga, Dipolog City and La Carlota City; 1 programmer from Manila and 1 person with Influenza Like Illness or ILI.
While under quarantine, the PUMs will be provided with relief food packs by the Office of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and the barangays.
On the other hand, 39 PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to rejoin their families.
Of the current 583 PUMs: 265 are in designated hotel facilities, 49 are in the community isolation center, while 269 are in the barangay isolation centers.
Only 3 of the PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
