Following the recovery of 11 COVID-19 patients and the confirmation of 2 additional active cases, City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla reports that there are now 26 active cases in the City as of Thursday.
However, there are 2 new COVID-19 cases who are residents of Barangay Junob and Barangay Banilad. Both are in isolation at the hospitals.
Dr. Talla also informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, that 31 individuals are quarantined beginning today in the different isolation facilities as Persons Under Monitoring or PUMs.
In contrast, 39 PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to rejoin their families.
Of the 31 new PUMs: 4 Overseas Filipino Workers from Saudi Arabia, Canada, Qatar and Singapore; 5 close contacts of COVID-19 Patients in Bagacay, Daro and Calindagan; 2 Coast Guard personnel from Manila; 19 Locally Stranded Individuals from Davao City, Toledo City, Davao, Quezon City, Olongapo City, Quezon City, Mandaue City and Nueva Ecija and a 70-year-old male showing symptoms of Influenza Like Illness.
Meanwhile, of the current 409 PUMs: 215 are in designated hotel facilities, 75 are in the community isolation center, while 119 are in barangay isolation centers.
Only 3 of the 409 PUMs seen and examined by the City Health personnel has shown signs and symptoms of ILI.
