Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and other city government officials, along with ordinary citizens converged at the Manuel L. Quezon Park last night to witness the Community Christmas Tree Light Up.
Among those who joined the ceremony are Councilors Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Manuel Sagarbarria, Lilani Ramon, Michael Bandal, Edgar Lentorio, Bernice Elmaco, Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie Amores, SK Federation President Renz Macion, department heads, Punong Barangays and Sangguniang Chairpersons of the 30 component barangays.
In his message, Mayor Remollo said “tonight, we light up our community Christmas Tree to celebrate the very season that affirms our faith and reminds us in these most trying times that Jesus Christ is the light of the world.”
“We shall keep the faith, as we continue to heal as one,” Mayor Remollo stressed.
Mayor Remollo said that in this global pandemic, we have witnessed people from various walks of life give their best, oftentimes putting their own health and welfare at risk, to serve and keep our community – our families, friends, visitors — safe from COVID-19.
This year’s Christmas season pays tribute to the efforts of the health workers, civic organizations and authorities to keep the COVID-19 pandemic under control and ensure the safety of our loved ones through the unity and cooperation of the people.
