City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla disclosed that the number of confirmed active COVID-19 cases in the city is now 24 following the 6 additional cases reported today, including 1 in Barangay Candau-ay who was tested positive after he passed away.
Meanwhile, 31 known close contacts of COVID-19 cases are strictly quarantined as Persons Under Monitoring or PUMs and may be subject to swab tests.
Specifically, the 31 new PUMs are close contacts of the COVID Positive of Barangay Candau-ay in Poblacion 8 and Banilad, of NEGOR-COV 573 in Poblacion 2; of COVID Positive from Valencia in Barangay Camanjac, of NEGOR-COV 565 in Junob, of NEGOR-COV 566 and 571 in Barangay Daro, of COVID Positive of Calindagan and NEGOR-COV 556 in Calindagan.
Dr. Talla also updated Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases that 7 other PUMs are quarantined today but are not related to the active COVID cases.
The 7 other PUMs include: a private employee from Rizal; NEGOR-COV 562 who was newly discharged from the hospital; 3 Returning Residents from Parañaque City and 2 Returning Overseas Filipinos from the United States.
On the other hand, 71PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to rejoin their families.
Of the current 349 PUMs: 152 are in designated hotel facilities, 67 are in the community isolation center, while 130 are in the barangay isolation centers.
None of the Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
