City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla disclosed that 5 close contacts of the COVID Positive Patient from Valencia town are under strict quarantine and will be subject to swab tests.
The City now has 10 active COVID cases, thus authorities are appealing for the members of the public to observe the health protocols such as wearing of face masks, frequent hand washing and social distancing.
Specifically, 2 of the close contacts of the COVID Patient are residents of Barangay Banilad; 2 others are residents of Barangay Candau-ay and a resident of Barangay Camanjac, who manifested Influenza Like Illness.
Dr. Talla also informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases that 11 other PUMs are quarantined today but are not related to the active COVID cases.
The 11 other PUMs include: 9 Locally Stranded Individuals from Manila, Cebu, Antipolo Rizal, Baguio City and Pasay City and 2 Returning Residents from Manila.
On the other hand, 5 PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
Also, of the current 353 PUMs: 158 are in designated hotel facilities, 54 are in the community isolation center, while 141 are in the barangay isolation centers.
None of the 353 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.
