Following the report of 5 additional COVID-19 cases and the recovery of the elderly couple, City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla declares that there are now 9 active cases in the City, who are all asymptomatic and isolated as of Saturday night.
Dr. Talla also informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, that 28 individuals are quarantined beginning today in the different isolation facilities as Persons Under Monitoring or PUMs.
In contrast, 22 PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families.
Of the 28 new PUMs: 14 are Returning Residents from Cebu City, Manila, Bohol, Mandaue City and Bacolod City; 6 Overseas Filipino Workers from Georgia, Saudi Arabia, France and Germany; 4 private employees from Leyte and Cebu City; 1 Returning Foreigner from Siquijor; a close contact of a COVID Positive from Dauin; a close contact of COVID Positive Case from Tanjay City; 1 Person Deprived of Liberty who was newly released from the City Jail.
Meanwhile, of the current 352 PUMs: 163 are in designated hotel facilities, 49 are in the community isolation center, while 140 are in barangay isolation centers.
None of the PUMs seen and examined by the City Health personnel has shown signs and symptoms of ILI.
