Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo invites the members of the public to participate in the modest and mainly virtual events in observance of the City’s 72nd Charter Anniversary and 400th Feast of Saint Catherine of Alexandria from November 23-27, 2020.
This year’s theme “Resilience in midst of the Pandemic” pays tribute to the efforts of the health workers, civic organizations and authorities to keep the COVID-19 pandemic under control and ensure the safety of our loved ones through the unity and cooperation of the people.
Mayor Remollo also reminds the public that the City remains under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) and that the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has strongly discouraged mass gatherings and banquets/parties should be strictly limited to members of the same household.
Non-residents of Dumaguete City are also discouraged from coming to join any festivities/gatherings as a safety measure.
The PNP and barangay officials will enforce quarantine measures through checkpoints in the borders and conduct of patrols.
And as we usher in the New Year 2021, we affirm our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and through the intercession of our Patron Saint Catherine of Alexandria that things will be better and safer in the coming days.
