Several qualified members of the Barangay Tanod Brigades in Dumaguete City collect their cash incentives from the City Treasurer’s Office last Friday.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo said that the cash incentives given to qualified barangay tanods underscores the City Government’s appreciation of the vital role played by the BPSO in helping authorities keep the peace in their neighborhoods.
City DILG Officer Christopher Pastor said that the quarterly cash incentive for barangay tanods is taken from the City Peace and Order funds under aid to PNP and other force multipliers.
However, each recipient must complete the mandatory training basically for knife and arnis techniques including the fire drill and lectures are eligible to receive the quarterly cash incentive of P 700.00 per month from the City Government.
The cash incentive is in addition to the honoraria the Tanods get from their respective barangays.
