The City Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases in an emergency meeting yesterday resolved not to impose City-wide lockdown but to continue with the comprehensive contact tracing of all direct contacts of COVID Positive patients so they could be isolated and tested.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo is appealing for those who may have been exposed to COVID patients to coordinate with the City Health Office and for information sharing with the Provincial IATF to ensure a meticulous contact tracing, which will surely help prevent more transmission.
City Health Officer Maria Sarah B. Talla said that all known close contacts of COVID patients have been isolated and swab tested including those classified as 3rd generation contacts.
Instead of large-scale lockdowns, all the households of the close contacts of COVID patients are placed under strict quarantine by authorities and provided with food packs and medicine while waiting for the RT-PCR results or the end of the 14-day period.
To be safe from COVID-19, everyone is reminded to be disciplined and observe local health protocols such as the constant wearing of face masks, physical distancing, hand washing and use of disinfectants.
