As part of the celebration of the Rabies Awareness Month, the City Veterinary Office conducted today free clinic, rabies vaccination, spay and neuter for dogs and cats.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo has been urging residents to be responsible pet owners as a means to maintain a near zero rabies infection rate in the city and avoid accidents caused by stray dogs and cats.
City Veterinarian Dr. Lourdes Socorro also shares that the City Pound, which has been operating for almost a year now, has provided shelter to rescued stray and abused dogs while searching for responsible persons who could adopt them.
The theme for this year’s Rabies Awareness Month “End Rabies: Coordinate, Vaccinate” stresses that the campaign for responsible pet ownership starts in the barangays and neighborhood.
