As part of the culmination of this year’s 120th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, the City Government of Dumaguete hosted the “Linggo ng Pasasalamat” yesterday to give honor and due recognition to all frontliners in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo paid tribute to the frontliners for risking their lives and comfort just to ensure that the City will remain safe from COVID-19.
For more than a month now, Dumaguete City has zero or no new COVID case and successfully controlled the spread of the virus with the stringent and consistent implementation of local health protocols coupled with the cooperation of the public.
However, the fight against COVID-19 continues and Mayor Remollo urges the frontliners and the members of the public to remain vigilant and observe the health protocols.
City Human Resource Officer Dr. Dinno T. Depositario, who is also the Chief-of-Staff of Mayor Remollo, noted that the frontliners in the government service and private sector worked unselfishly under the most challenging circumstances while the country and the city in particular was under the state of national health emergency.
Among the COVID frontliners, who were recognized in yesterday’s ceremony, were staff from the City Mayor’s Office, City Administrator’s Office, City Health Office, City Human Resource Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, Traffic Management Office, Discipline Zone, Special Enforcement Unit, Police Auxiliary Unit, Environment and Natural Resources Office, General Services Office, City Council, Sectoral Desk Office, City Treasurer’s Office, City Accounting Office, Public Information Office, City Economic Enterprise Office, City Nutrition Office, Local Youth Development Office and City Tourism Office.
