More than 200 bike enthusiasts from different national and local government agencies participate in this year’s Bicycle Fun Ride that took them to the different work sites of the infrastructure projects currently implemented by the administration of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his message to the participants, delivered by his Chief-of-Staff and Assistant City Administrator Dr. Dinno T. Depositario, Mayor Remollo recognized the increasing interest of the people, young and old, in using bicycle as an alternative means of transportation amid the pandemic, as a healthy form of recreation and physical fitness.
Mayor Remollo hopes that this activity will help promote the advocacy for motorists to respect the rights of bikers to safely use our roads well as inform the people of the current projects of the local government that create jobs and contribute to the development of the city.
The 2020 bicycle fun ride was participated by government officials and employees of the City of Dumaguete, Tourist Police, Department of Education, Dumaguete City Police Station and even members of local bike clubs.
Dr. Depositario, who is also the Head of the City Human Resource Management Office, acknowledged the City Sports and Youth Development Office under Ike Villaflores for organizing the event this morning, which is in line with the 120th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary with the theme: “PSC@120: Public Sector in the Age of Digital Transformation.”
