While all 7 public and private cemeteries will be closed from October 29 to November 4, 2020, Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo consulted the Punong Barangays and the City Health Office on how to regulate those who wish to visit the graves of their loved ones before and after the Undas ban.
In a Liga ng mga Barangay meeting yesterday, Mayor Remollo asked the Punong Barangays for suggestions how to control and restrict the exodus of visitors to the cemeteries at least two weeks before or after the ban period on entry to the cemeteries.
It was decided that quarantine passes will be used by the barangays to regulate the people who wish to visit the graves of their loved ones.
The suggestions will be finalized by the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management for Emerging Infectious Diseases in a meeting today.
Mayor Remollo is the Chairperson of the City IATF while City Health Office Ma. Sarah B. Talla is the Vice-Chairperson and Liga ng mga Barangay President Dione Amores is a member.
Dumaguete City has about 2 public and 5 private cemeteries whose management must also be consulted to finalize the plan and ensure its efficient implementation.
