About 1, 249 city residents have taken the RT-PCR swab and Rapid Diagnostic tests from April to September 21, 2020 as reported by City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla in today’s meeting of the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s IATF, lauded the Contact Tracing Team composed of personnel from the City Health Office, PNP and Bureau of Fire Protection for the comprehensive and systematic identification, testing and isolation of persons exposed to COVID cases.
The City residents tested are categorized in the following:
RT-PCR SWAB TEST – 167
RAPID DIAGNOSTIC TEST (RDT) – 1, 082
There are eight (8) confirmed COVID-19 cases in Dumaguete City. Six (6) have since recovered, while 2 others, who were both senior citizens and immunocompromised, have died.
For almost three weeks now, there is no active COVID Positive Case in Dumaguete City.
Considering the limited number of testing kits, the City’s IATF has adopted the Department of Health’s order of priority in administering both RT-PCR and RDT.
1st PRIORITY– patients, including medical professionals and health workers that exhibit severe to critical symptoms of COVID-19 with known travel history or contact to a positive patient
2ND PRIORITY – medical professionals and health care workers with mild symptoms and known exposure to a positive patient. And all patients with mild symptoms of COVID-19 classified as PUI, who are (1) known to be high risk with pre-existing medical condition and/or member of the vulnerable group (2) with known travel history or contact to a positive patient
3RD PRIORITY – medical professionals and health workers with no symptoms (asymptomatic) but with known exposure to a positive patient. And patients with no symptoms (asymptomatic) with known travel history or contact to a positive patient.
