Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo has ordered the concerned offices for the speedy processing of financial assistance to the estimated 30 families whose homes were lost or damaged in an afternoon fire in Purok Lunoy Barangay Junob, Monday.
After a thorough assessment, the CSWDO will immediately start processing the financial assistance for the families affected by the fire for its timely release.
Those families, whose homes were totally damaged can each receive P 10, 000; those partially damaged P 5, 000 and renters at P 2, 500.
Mayor Remollo also deployed first responders including staff from the City Social Welfare Office, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the City Health Office to provide immediate relief to about 30 affected families.
The Bureau of Fire Protection reports that the conflagration reached 3rd alarm and successfully suppressed it before it could spread further. No serious injuries and fatalities were reported but the estimated cost of damage was pegged at P 200, 000.
CSWDO Lilibeth Filipinas said that used clothing, blankets and food packs were already sent to the victims and a food station was also established to distribute meals to the affected residents after the fire was put out.
In the same afternoon, City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla also led a team of nurses and health workers to conduct consultations, particularly those residents who were slightly injured, and to distribute multi-vitamins and antibiotics.
