The Department of Labor and Employment commended the efforts of the administration of Mayor Felipe Anotnio Remollo to facilitate the hiring of thousands of its residents for jobs here and abroad through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
In his remarks delivered during Thursday’s virtual symposium by his representative Director Dominique Rubia-Tutay, DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III also lauded the city’s government officials and employees for their dedication to service.
City Human Resource Officer Dr. Dinno T. Depositario, who represented Mayor Remollo, acknowledged the DOLE programs that benefitted the people of Dumaguete.
Specifically, PESO Manager Ma. Socorro Mira is in constant coordination with DOLE Negros Oriental headed by Marites Mercado for the JobStart program, government internship and other employment programs of the agency.
However, to maintain the advantage of our human resource in the global market, Secretary Bello noted the need to transition the Filipino workforce into the fourth industrial revolution by maximizing the use of modern technology and push innovation in public service.
The virtual symposium with Secretary Bello is in line with the 120th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary with the theme: “PSC@120: Public Sector in the Age of Digital Transformation.”
