Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo highlights and pays tribute to the tireless efforts of the officials and employees of LGU-Dumaguete in providing efficient and honest service to the people despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his message during the opening salvo of the 120th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service at the newly restored Presidencia, Monday, Mayor Remollo underscored the various initiatives and protocols enforced as part of the city’s COVID response.
Mayor Remollo urged the members of the public and his fellow government workers to remain vigilant and obedient to maintain zero COVID case in Dumaguete City.
CITY’S COVID-19 RESPONSE
Set up a 40-bed Community Isolation Center inside a gymnasium with amenities and functional barangay isolation facilities
Conducted Continuous disinfection of public places, hospitals, churches, public market, eateries, banks, city hall compound, government offices, port area, Quezon Park
Facilitated the repatriation of stranded tourists to Cebu to board their flights back to their home countries
Conducted information drive house-to-house in the barangays, recorida, radio spots, press briefings, advisories in traditional media and social media accounts including distribution of face masks
Provided rice subsidy to almost 30, 000 households
Conducted meticulous Contact Tracing
Conducted Rapid Diagnostic Tests and swab tests among PUMS and frontliners
CITY’S COVID-19 INITIATIVES
Set up 24/7 HOTLINE for COVID-19 related concerns
Imposed a color-coded quarantine passes to further control travel and movement of people except for food and basic necessities
Deployed City’s buses and some 30 volunteer tricycles for Libreng Sakay of front-liners and stranded residents
Airlifted thousands of PPEs, face masks, gloves, disinfectant, alcohol and other medical supplies in thee shipments
Provided P 2, 500 as financial assistance to displaced informal sector workers
Set up community kitchen to prepare food for health workers, PUM and other frontliners
Introduced Mobile Markets and established satellite markers in the barangays
Devised a scheme to distribute SAP to 26, 000 beneficiaries that will be orderly and shall be in keeping with the social distancing policy
Allocated P 18.5 Million for Hazard pay of all frontliners, health workers and government employees who reported for work during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ)
