The City Government of Dumaguete marks the start of the month-long celebration of the 120th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary this morning with the traditional flag raising ceremony attended by elected officials and department heads led by Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo at the newly-restored Presidencia.
Civil Service Commission Chairperson Alicia Dela Rosa-Bala keynoted the event followed by a message from Mayor Remollo on the City’s successful response and initiative to manage COVID-19 and the major infrastructure projects of his administration.
Mayor Remollo paid tribute to the members of the City Council, department heads and employees who toiled day and night to keep the City safe from COVID-19 and to make sure that basic social services are extended to the constituents despite the pandemic.
And in recognition of their service, the City Government has approved P 18.5 million as hazard pay for all regular, casual, job order and project-based employees who served during the Enhanced Community Quarantine last April.
Due to the policies adopted by the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases and the cooperation of the members of the public Dumaguete is now COVID Free.
