Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo commends the joint contact tracing team of the City Health Office led by Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla and the Philippine National Police under Lt. Col. Mark Gifter Sucalit for promptly isolating and swab testing the 30 close contacts of a Positive COVID Case, who is a resident of Bacolod City, but serves as a manager of a company operating in Barangay Bajumpandan, Dumaguete City.
The mass swab testing of the close contacts was done last Tuesday (August 25, 2020) and they all tested NEGATIVE of COVID-19 based on the results received today.
The COVID Positive Case, an Authorized Person Outside of Residence (APOR), traveled to Bacolod City (without any coordination with the City’s IATF MEID) in a private vehicle for a meeting with the company’s owner last August 8, 2020 and returned to Dumaguete City on August 10, 2020.
On August 17, 2020, he learned that the company’s owner in Bacolod City tested positive of COVID-19 prompting him to travel back to his home city the following day to be swabbed. His positive RT-PCR result came out on August 24, 2020. He remains quarantined in Bacolod City.
Despite the negative results of their swab tests, the close contacts will be gradually released from quarantine only if they complete the mandatory 14-day quarantine without showing symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI).
