Provincial Officials of the Department of Science and Technology Negros Oriental donated to Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo 100 pieces of face shields to be use by the medical frontliners deployed to prevent and manage the possible spread of COVID-19.
Present during the turnover with Mayor Remollo and City Planning and Development Officer Engr. Leonides Caro are DOST Negros Oriental Director Atty. Gilbert R. Arbon, Training Coordinator Rommel Romagos, Science Research Specialist Reinhold Jek Y. Abing, Jay-Ar Abugan of VVER Construction, DPWH Engineers Ann Christine A. Mananquil and Ivan Don B. Imbo.
The donation is in line with the objective of DOST-Metals and Industry Research and Development Center led by its Executive Director, Engr. Robert O. Dizon, to help provide face shields to medical frontliners nationwide, including Dumaguete City, amid this COVID 19 pandemic.
The DOST-MIRDC is pooling its resources, technology, and ingenuity to continue to support our healthcare workers and frontliners in various sectors in battling the COVID-19 pandemic in the country with the mass production and distribution of face shields.
